01Interactive lab
The physics of a launch, live.
The same calculations we run before every flight, from thrust curve to orbit. Change the inputs and watch the outcome.
Flight simulator
Try it · Turn the wind up to 12 m/s and watch it turn into the wind. Then shrink the fins below 50% and watch it tumble.
What it is
The whole Trishul II mission before it happens: off the rail, through Mach 1.5, over the top, nose off, drogue out, split at 500 m and down under the main.
How it works
- 1Thrust, drag and gravity are integrated 500 times a second in two dimensions, plus pitch.
- 2Off the rail the fins turn the nose into the relative wind, so the rocket weathercocks upwind; after burnout gravity bends the path over until apogee.
- 3At apogee the charge pops the nose off and pulls the drogue out; at 500 m the airframe splits on its shock cord and the main opens.
